Fine quality original Maheshwari silk-cotton pure handloom fabric with woven border by master weaver Gulrez Ansari from Maheshwar.

The weaving tradition has been practiced in the family for many generations.

This beautiful fabric is soft, lightweight and semi-sheer with tiny subtle woven stripes and a finely woven border on both sides of the fabric. Imagine these borders embellishing collar, cuffs and plackets.

Maheshwar is one of India’s ancient temple towns, with a riverside fort and the background hum of early morning hymns. It has long held spiritual significance  and continues to draw sadhus and pilgrims to its ancient ghats and temples beside the holy Narmada River.

It has been centre for prime handloom weaving since the 5th Century.
