This shawl is hand woven using antique patterns in a complicated three thread jacquard technique with silk and wool threads. It features a deep border pattern on the ends and sides with a plain field in the middle. The jacquard technique allows the shawl to be reversible. We have a small selection of colours to choose from.
We bought these shawls directly from the weaver, Neeruddin in Varanasi, India, who, with his sons, carries on the ancient art of Benarsi weaving. We pay a fair wage for these shawls.
Measuring 111 x 202cm, it is large enough to envelope the body, fling over the shoulder or drape over the couch.
Only one in stock.
Being hand made, there may be minor variations in colour and design.
We take great care in photographing our products, but please be aware that minor differences in colour may occur between our camera and your monitor.
