Organic cotton was hand spun and hand woven for this beautifully fine and soft shawl.
The colour is derived lac, a sticky, resinous secretion of the tiny lac insect, Laccifer lacca, a species of scale insect. This insect is cultivated on Kusumbh and Tesu trees and has been used as a natural dye in South Asia and India since the beginning of recorded History.
Measuring 228 x 76cm and is soft enough to wrap around the neck and generous enough to fling around the shoulders.
We only have one like this, so if you want it, race it to the checkout before it goes home with someone else.
The artisans who made this shawl receive fair wages for their work.
