I bought this lovely fresh cotton fabric from a fair trade organisation in the town of Bagru in Rajasthan, India. Almost the whole town is involved in block printing fabrics. The rich red ochre colour is derived from natural madder dye.
The dress has a relaxed cut which skims the waist and midriff and then falls in gentle gathers to the hem. It sports two roomy patch pockets.
This is an easy to wear, cool comfortable cotton dress, from fantastic artisan made hand printed fabric.
I try to craft my garments as well as the fabric artisans do the fabrics, using French seams where possible so that your purchase will stay around for many seasons of happy wear.
This is a medium size that will fit many.
106 cm around the bust
100 cm around the waist
39 cm from centre back to waist
66 cm from centre back to end of sleeve
110 cm back length
Please allow at least another 5 cms on top of your personal dimensions for ease when comparing your body with the above measurements.
Made by me in my Chewton sewing room and signed with a heart.
For the long, happy life of your garment, I recommend a cold, gentle wash and air-drying in the shade.
Do not soak or wash with other garments.
