These sturdy cotton canvas table mats are hand printed using the traditional intricate block printed Kalamkari process which dates back to the 11thcentury. The colours are derived from plants, minerals and lamp black.
The hand made process of Kalamkari printing is tedious and demands a lot of close attention to detail.

The whole process takes a minimum of fifteen days, depending on the weather.
They are made by Pitchuka Srinivas and his team in a town in Andra Pradesh, India
Srinivas is one of the only artisans in the country who still follows the original technique of hand-block printed Kalamkari.
The mats measure 45 x 32cm each.
