This tunic is made from fair trade, hand woven ikat fabric, but the main attraction is the stunning hand made yoke and cuffs in Ahir embroidery.
Ahir Embroidery of Kutch, Gujarat in western India was practiced by a group of Ahirs who, legend has it, migrated from Mathura with Lord Krishna and later settled down in the North Western part of Gujarat. Embroidery researchers believe that this embroidery style is at least 500 years old.
This tunic has a relaxed cut with a slightly flared and flattering profile which will fit many sizes.
This tunic was a special order for a special lady.
I have other beautiful embroidered yokes and fabrics to suit them.
